VAULTMAZE & Anodisers

Charlie’s been writing the template program for the VAULTMAZE rings. This requires several lengthy tool changes. To make the process more efficient we’ve set up a new tooling system.

This system has a set of tools, already in collets, pre-measured and ready for a quick change. Something that took several minutes before, takes seconds now.

The anodisers have now completed our latest batch of sleeves (651) containing 23/24 colours from the series, Chris collected these on Monday.

The recent downtime at the anodisers was caused by a fire at a substation in the area. This shut down the anodisers, and due to large power requirements for anodising, they were unable to find temporary electrical cover for the downtime.

The substation has been rebuilt, and the anodisers are now back up to speed.

Workshop Update

On Tuesday, Charlie had visit, in the form of a review, from the college. They’rereally pleased with his progress. The Summer holidays are over now in the UK, Charlie will be returning to college next week.

We’ve been waiting for these sleeves to arrive to assemble our next mazes ready for shipment. However, each sleeve arrived individually wrapped, therefore quality checking all 651 sleeves has taken substantially longer than we expected.

All sleeves have cleared inspection, been safely boxed up and are currently awaiting final assembly.

Finally, today, the air filter for the Emco developed a leak. This has unfortunately rendered the machine temporarily inoperable.

Chris has been to the local pneumatic shop to try and source a new filter, unfortunately they had none in stock. A new filter has been ordered and will arrive next week, however it means that no machining has been done today.

Thank You

Thank you for being part of the REVOMAZE journey.

The best is ahead.

Great news that Charlie is doing well.

It's bad luck that the new filter is so hard to source, but that's an issue we're all having to deal with.

Thanks,

D
