Tourniquet cuffs are specialized inflatable cuffs used during surgery to temporarily stop blood flow to a limb, creating a bloodless surgical field. They are connected to a pneumatic tourniquet system that precisely controls the pressure applied to the arm or leg.

The condition is classified based on the part of the eye affected:

• Anterior uveitis – Inflammation of the iris and/or ciliary body; the most common type.

• Intermediate uveitis – Inflammation mainly in the vitreous (the gel inside the eye).

• Posterior uveitis – Inflammation of the choroid and/or retina.

• Panuveitis – Inflammation involving all parts of the uvea.
