Level 2 Engineering Operative

We are a small family business making high quality metal puzzles that are sold all over the world. We have won awards including “Best Gadget Game” on Channel 5 “The Gadget Show”.

 

We are requiring an Engineering Operative to learn how to design and manufacture our award-winning puzzles. Initially you will be trained to use our CNC Turning Centre on a one-to-one basis and assisting to help drive our intriguing puzzles to the next global level.

Roles & Responsibilities (based on experience and willingness to learn new skills)
 

ASSEMBLER

  • Ensure the very highest level of product quality with the company’s most important asset – our clients!

  • Able to assemble orders ensuring turnaround within company targets
     

MACHINING
 

  • Assist in product design and planning (CAD work using TurboCAD/Fusion 360 and use ODOO Production and Manufacturing Software)

  • Learn ShopTurn and programming a Siemens Sinumerik 828D CNC lathe (Emco E25 TCM) with LIVE tooling, ‘C’ Axis and bar feeder

  • Maintain Program Files – Version Management

  • Machine Setup along with tooling and work holding

  • Operate the machine in a production run following all health and safety guidelines
     

MISC

  • Attend seminars and other trade events like the MACH26 show at the NEC

  • Maintain Health & Safety Standards

Essential Information

We will work with Furness College to complete a Level 2 Engineering Operative Apprenticeship and provide on-the-job training as well as supporting off-the-job training at college.
